FOR OWNERS

Is VetIMMUNE PI safe?
Yes. It was tested on and given to hundreds of cats with excellent results and without causing adverse effects.

Can I use it on kittens?
Yes, VetIMMUNE PI can be used on kittens over eight weeks of age.

My cat was vaccinated against Feline Herpesvirus, can she still get infected?
Unfortunately yes. It depends on when she was vaccinated. The virus infects a lot of cats before first vaccination. Even vaccination of kittens weaned from a vaccinated mother cannot guarantee full protection. Passive immunity can suppress post-vaccination immunity.

Can I catch the infection from my cat?
No. Human and feline herpesviruses are distinct viruses.

What will happen if I don't treat my cat's herpesvirus infection?
Most strong, healthy cats will recover from herpesvirus infection spontaneously, but weak and young cats can succumb to the infection. Complications from infection can include chronic nasal discharge, chronic eye problems leading to loss of sight. Herpesvirus persists in the body and can cause periodic flare-ups for the lifetime of the cat.

Is Feline Herpesvirus a chronic disease?
Yes. Herpesvirus infection may cause chronic disease or may remain dormant within nerves for years. In 10-15% of cats, herpesvirus flares up periodically. The flare-ups may be caused by various sources of stress, including the introduction of a new cat, boarding, moving and others.
